Throwback Friday: Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma

This summer we'll be highlighting some of our older faves that you might have missed. Today, Jennie shares her pick to give you goose bumps even in the heat of summer.

Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma

The creepiest of all summer reads!

Chloe has always lived with her sister Ruby, the girl in town everyone always looks up to.  But after Chloe discovers the body of  classmate, people realize Ruby is too young to be a legal guardian and Chloe has to leave town to live with her dad. Two years later, Ruby shows up to bring Chloe home. When Chloe gets home, the dead classmate is alive again and Chloe starts to realize the power her sister holds over everyone isn’t her personality and charm, but something else entirely. Chloe’s always known Ruby will do anything to protect her, but what is Ruby capable of?

This is such a great read in the heat of the summer as a book that starts out fairly straightforward twists and turns it way into something far more sinister and dark with unexpected developments and layers. The creepy intensity slowly builds and spins its web around you. It’ll keep you up all night.
