Top 5 in 2017: Librarian M Kicks Us Off

Unbelievably, 2017 is half over and that means that it's time to take a look at what our bloggers and teen reviewers have been loving so far!

Librarian M is kicking things us off with five books she's loved and shared with us so far!

A thoughtful African American teen ponders her place in both her majority-white school and her majority-black neighborhood. Jade is the most interesting main character I’ve encountered so far this year.

Totally fun, but don’t think this book doesn’t have a lot on its mind.

Best ending of the year so far.

A lovely book about a girl who pushes everyone away after receiving a shock.

A Haitian immigrant who is separated from her mother while entering the US and has to navigate Detroit with the help of her cousins. Tough and timely.
