From now til the end of the year we'll be sharing our fave books of the year! Teen Reviewer Neeka stops by to share a few:
The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily by Rachel Cohn and David Leviathan (see our full review) is the holiday-themed sequel to the adorable Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares (see our full review). This book is darker than the first, but just as lovable.
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is the fascinating autobiography of a girl growing up during the Iranian Revolution. The story is told through a graphic novel, which adds to the read.
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson is a heartbreaking and emotional novel about a teen with anorexia.
We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach (see Neeka's full review) is an apocalyptic book about an asteroid hurtling toward Earth. Its characters manage to defy stereotypes in an inspiring way.
Vicious is the highly anticipated final novel in Sara Shepard’s Pretty Little Liars series. I thought this is (somewhat surprisingly) the best book in the series! It ties up every last loose string.
The Luxe by Anna Godbersen is an interesting take on the luxurious Manhattan lifestyle in that it takes place in 1899.
Bras and Broomsticks by Sarah Mlynowski is a hilarious, fun book, in which Rachel discovers her sister and mom are both witches.
Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler is an illustrated novel about a couple’s relationship, told through the two’s mementos.
What Light is a Christmas-themed book by Jay Asher. It is as sweet as the first love it describes.
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Page is an immersive interpretation of the Wizard of Oz, featuring a fearless protagonist.
