Around town they talk about Finn and his brother Sean. The boys have been on their own since their mother ran off a few years ago. Finn is handsome, but he's known as a boy who moons around and doesn't pay attention. After he'd been unable to tell who it was that kidnapped his brother's girlfriend that reputation has only intensified.
Rosa isn't sure who kidnapped her either, but she does know that she's never going to give into his insistence that one day she'll love him. She's never been one to do what someone else wants and this time is no different.
Bone Gap was the Printz Award winner last year and a lot of our librarians' favorite book of the year. I'm happy I finally got the chance to get my hands on it. Everything in the book is a little bit magical, The town, the brothers and especially Rosa. If you like fairy tale retellings, this will definitely give you some of the same feelings while still being something new and original. The world building and writing are gorgeous and will make you want to linger over every page.
