Top 5 in 2016 (so far): Katie's Choices
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys (See our posts here)
This book should be devastating and impossible to finish. But it's Ruta Sepetys who makes the devastating and unfinishable read like a perfect, optimistic, unputdownable historical thriller.
Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee
How did I skip this one last year? Beautiful blend of adventure, friendship, humor, and romance on the Oregon trail. Can't wait to pick up Outrun the Moon.
Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry
More motorcycle gang romances, please. Even better than the first book in the series. Just plain fun.
The Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan
This might be my favorite Rick Riordan yet... So many laughs! Haikus! Gods in mortal form! Percy cameos! And the plot is the sort of breakneck speed, never-dull-moment caper that we've come to expect (and love) from Riordan!
The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutoski
Between us, I thought the second book in this trilogy suffered a bit from... well... Second book syndrome. But Rutoski's given us a conclusion that lives up to the promise of the amazing The Winner's Kiss. So satisfying.
