Honor Girl by Maggie Thrash

Librarian M shares a new graphic novel that's one of her favorites of the year:

Honor Girl by Maggie Thrash

Honor Girl is Maggie Thrash’s graphic memoir about her summer camp experience the year she turned 15. Maggie has been going to this camp for years and she usually has a pretty good time, but this year she develops a crush on one of the camp counselors, Erin. She keeps this a secret from her best camp friend, but tells another girl because she needs someone to talk to. Rumors start to spread about Maggie and awkwardness ensues.

This book is honest, funny, and occasionally cringe-inducing. Pick it up if you would like to read a story about an intense first-crush experience!

(Also, if you like this, check out Liz Prince’s graphic memoir, Tomboy!)
