In a lot of parts of his life, Will is spinning a little bit out of control. He doesn't know if he wants to go to college, his dad's drinking again and his mom and stepfather's house is full of the screaming of his little half-sisters. And that doesn't even begin to include his love life.
First, there's his best friend Angus. They've been friends forever, but lately every time Angus comes over he and Will end up making out. He never thought about being gay before, but he can't stop thinking about Angus when he's not there. Unless, of course, he's with Brandy, the girl he recently started dating. At some point he's going to have to make a decision, but that would mean hurting one of them and also, deciding something about himself. So, for now he's juggling both of them as well as his summer job and worrying about his dad. He's not kidding himself, he knows things can't go on like this. But he's not sure who he can let down.
It is hard to figure yourself out. There's no good rule books and it can feel like everyone has a handle on things except you. Will is in this boat and you'll be along for the ride as he makes bad choice after bad choice often to avoid making a bigger decision. It's realistically frustrating and pretty quickly it becomes clear that there won't be a magic fix for Will's problems.
If you like your fiction realistic and messy, this one is for you.
