Up and Coming: Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols

Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols

Release Date: January 13, 2015

Harper has put a lot of work into creating a style. She likes things retro and just-so. She's sewn her wardrobe and selected her glasses and now that's what everyone expects her to to look like. It's the same way for the rest of her life, she's put in the work and now she's on the yearbook and dating its Editor in Chief. It's what everyone expects of her but all of the sudden she's feeling trapped by her own expectations.

When the senior class elects Harper as one half of the "perfect couple that never was" she can't help but wonder if maybe everyone else knows something she doesn't. Brody is a football player with an easy smile and no small amount of interested girls... but, he's also a genuinely nice guy who Harper's always found easy to chat with in homeroom. What would happen if she's missed out on something with him because she's been so busy trying to keep up with the expectations she's set for herself? Is it too late to be someone else?

This is the second book of the Superlatives series, one book a piece for each one of three friends, Tia, Harper and Kaye. As always Jennifer Echols has a handle on the type of hopes and fears of a real senior in high school. Harper has planned herself right into a box and now she has to decide if she's brave enough to try something new. Brody has a similar set of expectations on him, date the cheerleader, carry the team to victory. But, an injury and this election both also leave him questioning the status quo.

There are a lot of things to enjoy about this series, snappy chemistry between Brody and Harper, to start. Also, it's fun to see how Tia and Will are doing from the first book, Biggest Flirts and you'll be dying to find out what's going to happen with Sawyer and Kaye who have been dancing around each other since the beginning of the first book. You'll have to wait till next summer for the end of the series!
