Some Boys by Patty Blount

Some Boys by Patty Blount

Everyone in Grace's school thinks they know what happened. They think they know by looking at Grace and the things she wears and the parties she goes to that she's the type of girl who would make something up just to get back at a guy. They think they know that Zac is a good looking football star who any girl would want to get with under any circumstances. None of them know anything.

Grace is counting days since it happened. Days since since she lost all her friends and the good opinion of her teachers and parents. Days since her life became a living nightmare.

Ian knows what everyone thinks. He's Zac's best friend, so of course he does. But he can't help thinking that Grace doesn't seem like she's lying. And there's something about Zac's story that doesn't add up to him. But, to do anything about it would be to put the football team's season and his own athletic scholarship in jeopardy... all for something that everybody knows is true.

This is a book that tells the story behind the news item you might see scroll across your television. Grace's situation is as awful and unimaginable as it is unfortunately realistic. If you are looking for a heart wrenching look at some of the issues facing teens today, Some Boys will grab you and not let you go.
