Librarian M's Top Five Horror Books for Halloween

Happy Halloween! Get ready to get scared!
As you guys know, when it comes to horror we don't mess around, we consult the expert. Librarian M doles out her supreme picks for scaring yourself silly:

Scowler by Daniel Kraus (see full review)

My favorite YA horror book of the past few years. Very creepy and messed-up.

Demon-hunters in an alternate Victorian London inhabited with all sorts of horrible creatures.

The Waking Dark by Robin Wasserman (see full review)

No supernatural monsters in this one, just humans showing how low they can stoop.

Vampires that are actually scary instead of dreamy. No sparkling in Coldtown.

Ashes by Ilsa Bick  (see full review)

Got to have some zombies for Halloween. This one is super gross!
