Up and Coming: The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith

Release Date: April 15, 2014

On the day of a city wide blackout in NYC, Owen and Lucy happen to be in just about the last place you'd want to be: an elevator. But instead of being the start of a horrible survival tale, this is the start of a wonderful evening.

But, when the lights come back on, both Owen and Lucy have to return to their normal lives. Except, "normal" doesn't apply to either of their stories. Both Owen and Lucy find themselves far away from New York as their parents look for their perfect jobs. From Scotland and Seattle, that elevator in New York seems awfully far away.

But a postcard across the ocean can remind you of a night you don't want to forget. Will it be enough to pull Owen and Lucy back together across continents?

Yesterday was my birthday and I am pretty happy to have a new book from Jennifer E. Smith to celebrate it with. If you enjoy thoughtful romances that pull you in and don't let you go, she is a go-to author. Both The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight (see more posts) and This is What Happy Looks Like (see more posts) featured small stories that ran deep and that's the same with this. Owen and Lucy have just one night and a few conversations, but the way these moments are written, you can understand why neither one of them can shake the feeling that there could be something more between them.
