This book is gross. It’s vulgar, disgusting, and disturbing. It’s funny, sweet, and thought-provoking. It’s really, really good.
Austin lives in Ealing, Iowa where he spends most of his time hanging out with his girlfriend Shann and his best friend Robby. Ealing is a dying, depressed, ex-factory town where nothing much exciting ever happens until it becomes ground zero for the end of the world. As a self-appointed historian Austin is recording everything that happens to him and around him. He’s a rather good record-keeper.
Instead of telling you about the plot, I’m just going to list some of the awesome things this book contains: weird glowing mold, a couple of creepy bricked-off doors, confused sexual feelings, giant bugs that eat people, Satan’s Pizza, a hairless cop, and (as mentioned above) the end of the world. If that doesn’t make you want to read this book, I don’t know what will.
(Seriously, you guys, this book is great. Don’t miss it.)
