Jon Skovron Week: Back to the Debut!

Struts and Frets by Jon Skovron
Sammy dreams of making it big in the music business. Okay, not big like Justin Timberlake, more big like the Decemberists or Neutral Milk Hotel. Big enough to fill a club with rabid fans, but still under the radar enough to be cool. But of course, things keep getting in the way of this dream, like the fact that his band is fronted by a guy who can't sing or remember lyrics or the fact that the rest of his other band members are a lot more interested in mastering the art of kicking butt in Halo than figuring out the chords to Sammy's songs.

When a local radio station sponsors a battle of the bands contest, this could be Sammy's chance at greatness. If everything else would just fall into place. Can Sammy win the war against his slacking band mates in order to win the battle of the bands?

Alright, this is another book with a soundtrack. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a main character with excellent taste in music. Check this one out if you've ever dreamed of being a rock star, wished you could play guitar, or wished that you could play a round of Rockband in front of an audience of adoring fans.
