Top 5 in 2013 (so far): Katie's Seriously Excellent Series

For Katie's Top 5, she's got series on the brain.

Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta
Simply the best ending to a trilogy. Maybe ever.
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
The tale of Josie in 1950s New Orleans is even more stunning than the cover of this wonderful book, which is saying something. Ruta Sepetys is the new Queen of Historical Fiction. (see the full review)
Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers
Can a sequel about assassin nuns be even better than a first book about assassin nuns? This book answers that question with a resounding YES. (see the full review)
Perfect Scoundrels by Ally Carter
Ally Carter knows how to write a fun, suspenseful book. I love each adventure of super-teen-thief Kat & Co. more than the last. (see the full review)
The Runaway King by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Sage remains one of the best characters I've come across in a long time in this compelling sequel to The False Prince.(see the full review)
Bonus: I owe you at least one more standalone title and since I can't seem to choose, here are two--Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff. Either would be the perfect way to pass a summer day.
Read and enjoy!
