Beach Week: Short Sandy Stories

Lisa has some quick picks for your relaxation reading.

Who wants to read a l-o-n-g book on a hot day at the beach? Short stories are the perfect pick for the shore. You can read a variety of stories between swimming, sleeping and checking out the “scenery”! Our short story collections are so varied, there’s something for every mood.

 Guys read : funny business This hilarious compilation of stories edited by Jon Scieska (remember The Stinky Cheese Man from your childhood?) will have you rolling with laughter. With contributors like Mac Barnett, Adam Rex, Eoin Colfer and Jack Gantos, you know you’re in for a zany ride with his one. (Also, this one is on the suggested summer reading list for sixth grade!)

Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, Diane Peterfreund, Holly Black, Jane Yolen, are among the 18 authors who brewed up Under My Hat: Tales from the Cauldron, a collection of stories dealing with all things witchy. Fill your cooler with potion and get ready for a magical read!
