Rockoholic by C.J. Skuse

Rockoholic by C.J. Skuse

Jody is out-of-control, but she's pretty sure that's part of her charm. She's over the top in pretty much everything she does including her grief over her iconoclast grandfather's recent death. But, in Jody's defense, he had been one of the few people who really got her. Now, she's taking his motto of "Don't dream it, be it" to heart.

Of course, she thought she'd do that by going to a concert by The Regulators, her number one musical obsession. She didn't think she'd be following her granddad's creed by kidnapping their lead singer, Jackson Gatlin. But, now he's in her garage.

Jody's not completely sure Jackson didn't want to be kidnapped either, because he doesn't seem to be in any rush to leave her apartment. And it's not going to be long before the paparazzi track him down and she's in serious trouble! Now she's relying on her best friend Mac to help her out of what might turn out to be the biggest Jody-made-disaster ever. Luckily for Jody, this is one area where Mac has a lot of practice.

But, Jackson turns out to be one demanding prima donna rock star and Mac may have the patience to deal with Jody, but he doesn't even like Jackson and even he thinks Jody may have finally gone to far. Will they be able to convince their rock star to return to his life of glamor and sold out concerts? What's wrong with Jackson's life that he'd even consider staying in Jody's English suburban garage anyway?

This is a very funny and very outrageous book for everyone who has ever claimed to be the "number one" fan of a band or a celebrity. Rockoholic is one for our older YA readers who want to follow Jody on her hilarious journey from super-fan to kidnapper and out the other side.
