2012 in 5: Librarian M Lays Her Cards on the Table

Last year Librarian M won the Printz pool by having the most award-winning books in her top 10. We're anxious to see if she can keep that streak alive. Take a look at her picks and see if you think fancy gold stickers await the covers of these books:

Is it just me or is this an especially excellent year for YA literature? My favorites so far:

One of the most compelling books I've read so far this year. Marchetta really brings this fantasy world to life.

Bitterblue by Kristen Cashore (see our full review here)
Palace intrigue, a young queen just beginning to come into her own, and long-buried secrets make up this totally absorbing fantasy.

A one sentence plot recap would probably only mention the fact that Cameron is sent to a Christian school to try to "fix" her homosexuality, but this book is about so much more than that. It covers a significant chunk of Cameron's life and is filled with complex characters.
