Up and Coming: Lucky Fools by Coert Voorhees

Lucky Fools by Coert Voorhees

Release Date: July 10, 2012

David is a senior at a prestigious California school, the kind of school where you're expected to have some pretty exceptional post-high school plans. But David's got everything riding on one dream, Julliard. He's been the lead in his school's plays year in and year out, and there's nothing else even remotely interesting to him. And he figures, basically, go big or go home, right?

So, when the school his friends are all drooling over, Stanford, announces that they will only be accepting ONE applicant from his school's student body, David is pretty un-phased. He's much more worried about the fact that he's getting a bit too close to his costar Vanessa lately, when he already has a very devoted long term girlfriend, Ellen. Then there's the fact that someone's pulling pranks on the school's best and brightest seniors, putting up displays that show off their not-so-shiny sides for everyone to see. Is David a big enough fish at the school to be pranked? Does he kind of wish he was?

David's the kind of teen who thinks he's ready for whatever is coming next. When his drama teacher accuses him of not being able to get dark enough because he just hasn't experienced this yet, he pretty much agrees. But as a reader, you know that he's asking for trouble and that thinking you're ready and being strong enough to handle what comes your way are two different things.

Lucky Fools is a good read for those of you out there feeling the senioritis slowly take over your body. David totally feels your pain.
