12 Days of YA Lit (Part 4)

Thanks for coming along with us on our review of 12 trends from this past year!

You can check out the rest of the list here (part 1       part 2          part 3)

We're down to the wire now:

Day 3: Three Books from Mission Control

This is ground control to Major Tom, we've got these books to send your way. We hope they will make you feel better about floating in space, so far away from the little blue planet we call home. These are three books that take place outside the earth's atmosphere. Get ready to see the stars up close.

Day 2: Two Books that Should Stay Away from Snakes
Two books about one of the most famous queens ever. Though Cleopatra's Moon is about her daughter- so really these two are just a great pairing. You'll get two generations of royal intrigue in a very different kind of palace. Just how is mother like daughter?

Day 1: One Unique, Blue-Haired Heroine
It's fun every year to pick out the book that is hardest to put with others. Although I guess you might call Daughter of Smoke & Bone a supernatural romance, but the world is so weird and wonderful, and Karou is such an individual-- she's earned a place at the top of our trend list. She's our 2011 one and only. (see our full reviews of DOSAB here and here)

See last year's list here.

So there you have it, our list of 12! What trends did we miss? Which ones are your favorites? We want to know in the comments!
