Teen Tech Week: Shining a Light on Cyberbullying

Now that we have so many different forms of technology at our fingers, it's more important than ever to think about how we use them.  According to the people at the Pew Internet and American Life Project, more and more teens are using their keys in anger and the results can be dangerous and long lasting.

32% of online teens say they've experienced some sort of online harassment. This is a pretty depressing statistic. But there are people who are standing up to try and put a stop to cyber-bulling and all forms of teen-to-teen harassment (ims, text message, etc). "Say It 2 My Face" is an organization who is asking teens to step forward and make a pledge to make a commitment to end cyber-bullying in their own lives.

MTV has also started a campaign to focus attention on this important issue. AThin Line is a place where MTV is highlighting the ways in which you and your friends are taking action to stop digital abuse (digital disrespect, textual harassment, cyberbullying etc.). One of the most important pages they have outlines ways to take control of your digital life.

Draw Your Line

We hope you will take a few minutes out of your day to think about how you use your voice online and take one of these pledges to help make the digital world a little better for everyone to live in.
