Gift Book Display and Contest!

Central Library has their display set up to showcase books we think would make great gifts (need ideas?- see our post) and books that have been declared the best of the year.
To get into the holiday spirit we are hosting a GIVEAWAY!
Tell us what book you think would make a great present this year. We'll pick a winner from the comments and they will get to choose a free book from our cart of give-aways. The contest will end December 17, so get your comments in now!

Update: Congrats to Brian and Jennifer for winning our giveaway, please email me at npiro (at) arlingtonva.us so I can give you the info on claiming your prize!

Great blog! I've included it on a site I've created, which is a compilation of some of the best blogs in the city.

I think a great gift would be The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. It's nonfiction but it's written so well that I couldn't stop reading it until the end. I also learned a lot about scientific/intellectual property and racism, among other things.

I think the book The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin would make a great holiday book gift because it is a book that many people can relate to. It also seems lighthearted enough to not only entertain the reader but interest the reader and have yourself "walk in the characters' shoes". This book is suitable for those who are in a new school or have made the transition from middle to high school.
