A Teen Summer Reading Ice Cream Party to Remember

This summer we had 819 teens sign up for the summer reading program at the library. Of those, 319 people met their goal and turned in their reading log. We had an ice cream party last Wednesday to celebrate all of our participants!

It was a great success! More than 150 people partied with us! We gave out our major summer reading prizes (4 gift cards to Barnes and Nobles and 1 Visa Gift Card) AND we gave out a book to every teen who came! On top of that, there were ice cream sundaes for everyone (including parents and siblings). It was wonderful to get to meet everyone and if you were there, we hope we'll see you lots more this year!

We are so thankful to the Friends of the Library, who help make all our events for youth at the library possible! And also thanks to Safeway for donating the ice cream! And one more shout out to our librarian, Maria, for providing us with most of the books we were able to offer as give-away prizes!

If you're new to the blog, we hope you will stick around and find out about all the great stuff we have coming up this fall!
