Tuesday: What are your favorites in 2010 so far?

More titles that are worthy of your carry-on!
Today we talked to M, the librarian who does our purchasing of young adult books. She has her finger on the pulse of what's going to be big in the world of YA fiction.

Here's a look at some of the titles she's enjoyed this year:

Incarceron: by Catherine Fisher
It's dark and engrossing and introduces two fascinating worlds that I found totally immersive.  It's got suspense, political intrigue, and mystery all mixed up with magic and science.
Stolen: by Lucy Christopher
A girl is kidnapped while at the airport in Bangkok waiting for her flight back to England.  Her interactions with her abductor are eerie and mesmerizing and the Australian Outback where she is being held is almost a third character in her ordeal.
Before I Fall:  by Lauren Oliver
Humanizes a popular clique of high school girls as one of them lives one horrible day over and over.  Examines why we like our friends even though they may be flawed.
Hold Still:  by Nina LaCour
A quiet book about a girl dealing with the aftermath of her best friend's suicide.  A very believable reaction to and recovery from a traumatic event.
