Get Ready to Decorate Yourself: Body Art at the Library

On Thursday, August 5 at 3:30, we'll be having a very cool program at Central Library. There'll be henna art, nail art and a belly dancing demonstration!

It's a great way to spend an afternoon. Get artistic with the way you decorate and move your body!

Have you ever wanted to try belly dancing? It's an art form that likely started in Syria and is definitely still going strong.

Henna art or Mehndi, is a Persian and Indian art of decorating your skin using a plant based dye. It it piped on to the skin in intricate swirls and designs. It is often used on special occasions. We are very lucky to have our own library staff member, Noorani Karim as a resident expert. She also helped us out last year, so some of you may have already had the chance to see her art in action!
