We love Contests! And Author Visits!

As we mentioned, Sarah Lewis Holmes (who was kind enough to let us pick her brain in this interview) is coming to visit the library on May 3. She'll be here from 4:30-6:00pm in the second floor meeting room. Ms. Holmes will be talking about her writing process and her experiences with publishers. She's going to be talking to the Middle School Writing Cafe, but high school and middle school students (and anyone else who is interested) are welcome to come!

To celebrate, we're going to be giving away copies of Operation Yes, right here!

We have a few copies to give away as prizes! So, from now until April 23, all you have to do is comment below and tell us the best book you've read this month. We'll draw winners on the 23rd! Soooo.... Get commenting! And come visit us on May 3 to see Sarah Lewis Holmes!

My favorite book I read this month was probably Linger (http://www.maggiestiefvater.com/linger.php), by Maggie Stiefvater. Linger is the sequel to the book Shiver, also by Maggie Stiefvater. In this book, three people must struggle-emotionally and physically-with their "disease"-which turns them into wolves every winter, and people in the summer. Though, as you age you begin to stay wolf-form longer, until you're completely wolf, and you've only got 12 or so years left to live. It seems a cure has been found, but in Linger maybe the cure isn't so perfect. The book comes out in July, but I got to read a special Advance Reader's Copy, which was immensely exciting. Her next book Forever comes out in July 2011, which is so far away! Hopefully i'll be able to stand waiting!
