Friday Lit Spotlight: Looking ahead

Now that we've made it through our top ten, it's time to look ahead to the new year! What are you excited to read in 2010? There are a ton of titles that we can't wait for. Here's a sample of some that will hit the shelves this year.

The Hunger Games Book III
-- Suzanne Collins
August 24, 2010
So far, it's untitled, but we can't wait to see what happens next to Katniss. We know that Collins is going to give us non-stop action and heart-pounding suspense and it's going to be way better than the most explosion filled blockbuster that will be hitting the theaters at the same time. We'll have our popcorn ready.

-- Maggie Stiefvater
July 20, 2010
We're hooked on this werewolf series. With so many loose ends at the end of Shiver, there are so many ways the plot in Linger could go. Of course, no matter which roads Stiefvater decides to go down, as long as there's more Sam and Grace, we're okay with it.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson
-- John Green & David Leviathan
April 5, 2010
This combo of two of our favorite YA authors can only lead to great things. Also it has a great idea, each author writes from the perspective of a teen named Will Grayson. We're excited to get our hands on a copy of what happens when these two lives intersect.

The World We Live In
-- Susan Beth Pfeffer
April 1, 2010
The third book in Pfeffer's apocalyptic series. After a meteor collided with the moon in "Life As We Know It," life changed forever for Miranda and her family. This chapter takes place a year after the collision and we are anxious to see how Miranda and Alex are doing.

Monsters of Men
-- Patrick Ness
May 3, 2010
The Chaos walking series has been getting a lot of buzz at the end of the year. The Ask and the Answer and The Knife of Never Letting Go have appeared on best of lists all over the place. In this intense series the reader follows Todd, a young man in a community that has no women. He has grown up believing it's normal for everyone to be able to hear what's inside your head.

Here's a look at books coming out in January-March. It was made by "The tenners" a blog written by authors with their debut books coming out in 2010. Check it out here.
