Open Your Mind--Read a Banned Book!

It's Banned Book Week @ your library. You'll be amazed at the books and authors that have been challenged. The list includes, among many others, To Kill a Mockingbird, Captain Underpants, and that utterly subversive nonfiction children's book about two male penguins in a New York zoo who tended an egg and raised a baby penguin together, And Tango Makes Three.

So take a stand and read a banned book. As it says in the video, "Censorship--it's what you can't see and hear that hurts you."

What's YOUR favorite "banned book"?

I like the Harry Potter series, His Dark Materials series, and In the Night Kitchen by Maurice Sendak.
